Franco Mastantuono Opens Up on Vinícius, Messi, Lamine Yamal

Franco Mastantuono made an appearance on El Larguero (Cadena SER). The Argentine starlet spoke on a range of topics — from Vinícius Jr.’s El Clásico outburst to his admiration for Lionel Messi and his rivalry with Lamine Yamal.

On Vinícius Jr.’s El Clásico Outburst: “He apologized to everyone. We’re united.”

“When he left, it obviously wasn’t the right way to do it. He apologized to Xabi, he apologized to everyone in the locker room. We’re a team, we’re all one… Vinicius is an incredible person who gets questioned a lot because of who he is, but the truth is he’s an incredible person who spreads joy.

“Obviously he gets angry like we all do… but he quickly acknowledged that. He knows he’s very important to the team, he’s one of the captains. I think he’s an incredible person.”

On Messi: “For me, he’s the best player in the world — until he retires.”

“I’m at the biggest club in the world, but for me the best player in football, and in the world, is Messi, and he will be until the day he retires.

“I’m with him on the national team and he’s incredible; he leaves you speechless every time he touches the ball… I appreciate how he’s always treated me.”

On Lamine Yamal: “Today, he’s better.”

“I don’t like comparisons, but it’s always nice to have rivals of Lamine’s caliber… They motivate you to be even better.”

On who is better right now:

“Today, Lamine. The truth is, he’s showing an incredible level… I just arrived at Madrid, I’m in an adaptation process… hopefully it will be a very long story to tell.”

On Mbappé vs Julián Álvarez: “I’d choose both.”

“Julián is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world… Besides his great play and intelligence, he sacrifices a lot for his team.

“Kylian is a natural goalscorer; if he’s not the best player in the world today, he’s certainly the second best.

“They’re both among the best players in the world… I’d choose both, honestly.”
