The Atlanta Falcons are dealing with some significant injuries as they navigate the second half of what has been a disastrous 2025 season. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is set to have surgery on his partially torn ACL, wide receiver Drake London is week-to-week with a knee injury, and the offensive line hurting at multiple spots.
Head coach Raheem Morris addressed some of the team’s injuries during his Wednesday press conference, starting with Penix’s knee.
“We’ll do that sooner rather than later,” Morris said of Penix’s surgery timeline. “The guy is going to come back stronger for us. This organization believes in him.”
London has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints, even though Morris said the fourth-year wide receiver will likely still want to play. “Sometimes you have to protect Drake from Drake,” added the Falcons head coach.
On the bright side, Morris said linebacker Divine Deablo will be activated on Wednesday and hopefully be able to play in Week 12. Deablo was having a career year before breaking his forearm back in Week 7. After spending the last four weeks on the injured reserve list, it sounds like Deablo has a good chance of returning for Sunday’s game.
Watch Morris’ full press conference below and check back this afternoon for the team’s Wednesday injury report.
