Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been arguing back to a fan who has been criticising Enzo Maresca this week.
There was some sort of debate show on Sky Sports this week that featured a panel of fans from Premier League clubs, and then former players such as Hasselbaink were replying and responding to comments made.
EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea in contact for player who reminds Gianfranco Zola of himself in his playing days!
Interestingly, it was a Sunderland fan criticising Enzo Maresca and saying that he has no Plan B and that there is no dynamism in his style of football. Of course, Sunderland recently beat Chelsea, so this fan is probably feeling pretty confident and able to say that about the opposing manager that his side beat.
But Hasselbaink was not having any of it and was quick to respond to this fan saying that Maresca has actually done a very good job so far at Chelsea and continues to explain why.

The full video has been put out on the Sky Sports X account, but Hasselbaink’s reply to the fan goes like this:
“I think he [Maresca] has done brilliant. Yeah, in football, people forget really quickly. He took over last year, and you know what kind of trouble we were in when he took over, he stabilized it, and in that year, he won two trophies.
“Now some might say Club World Cup is not… he won it, and he had a brilliant final against PSG. PSG, that nobody could beat, not Liverpool, not Arsenal. Yeah, nobody could beat them. And we totally annihilated them anyway.
“This season was always going to be difficult because of the start for Chelsea always, you know. And you [Sunderland] have done a great job, that has to be said. You’ve done a great job playing against Chelsea, and they didn’t turn up. Well done, that’s your credit. But I don’t think because of that game that now, all of a sudden, we are babysitting Maresca. He’s doing a brilliant, brilliant, brilliant job. He’s third in the league, yeah, six points behind arsenal. Nothing is written in stone yet. You never know you.”
