Tottenham Hotspur striker Dominic Solanke has revealed that he is slowly edging closer to a comeback from a long-term injury. The 28-year-old has played just three games for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club this term, with his last appearance coming in the 2-0 win over Manchester City on August 23. The Athletic claimed Solanke will not be available when Arsenal host Spurs on Sunday or for Wednesday’s Champions League tie with Paris Saint-Germain in France.
Tottenham play next on November 29 when they host Fulham, and should the game come too early for him, a December return is guaranteed.
“It’s been very difficult,” Solanke told The Athletic earlier this month concerning his recovery.
“At first, I didn’t think I would be out for too long but we didn’t really understand the extent of the injury. I was trying to get back as quickly as I could but it didn’t happen, so I had to have surgery. Since then, I have been working to get back.
“I’m not putting a timeline on it because I’ve been telling everyone ‘I’m going to be back soon’ for the last few months. I’m taking it day by day but hopefully I won’t be much longer.”
Spurs have struggled in front of goal in the absence of Solanke, with Randal Kolo Muani, Richarlison and Mathys Tel failing to step up. The Netherlands international centre-back Micky van de Ven has been Tottenham’s highest goalscorer across all competitions so far in 2025-26, with six goals to his name.
