Four African national teams have already secured their spots to compete in the FIFA Arab Cup from December 1 to 18, 2025, in Qatar: Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia.

Seven other countries will battle it out in a qualifying round on November 25 and 26, hoping to punch their ticket to the main stage. While Libya, Mauritania, and Sudan have already appeared in the tournament before, four nations are eyeing a historic debut in the final phase.

The four teams that have never reached the final stage are South Sudan, Somalia, Djibouti, and Comoros. To secure their spots, they’ll have to overcome Asian opposition in the qualifiers.

Here’s the preliminary round schedule:

Tuesday, November 25:

13:00 GMT: Mauritania vs. Kuwait

16:00 GMT: Syria vs. South Sudan

16:00 GMT: Palestine vs. Libya

Wednesday, November 26:

13:00 GMT: Oman vs. Somalia

13:00 GMT: Bahrain vs. Djibouti

16:00 GMT: Sudan vs. Lebanon
