The Atlanta Falcons’ five-game losing streak is officially over.
With veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins stepping in for an injured Michael Penix Jr., the Falcons cruised their way to a 24-10 victory over the rival New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
This matchup drew mixed predictions throughout the week, largely because of how badly the Falcons have been hit by injuries. Atlanta ruled out Penix, Drake London, Billy Bowman Jr. and Zach Harrison ahead of Week 12, and the team hadn’t been playing well in general for the last month or so.
One of the biggest topics of conversation during and after the contest was Cousins’ performance. The veteran signal-caller looked like the player he was in the first half of the 2024 season, rather than the one who has been booed off the field and heavily criticized since.
Cousins completed 16 of his 23 passing attempts for 199 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.
Here’s a look at what social media had to say about that and the game as a whole:
Kirk Cousins is a “SAINTS KILLER” I bet if they ask him who’s his favorite team to play against in the nfl he 100% will say the #saints
