Through the 2024-25 season, the Los Angeles Lakers have had a total of 506 players suit up for them, going back to their days in Minneapolis. Some were forgettable, some were serviceable, some were good and a select few were flat-out legendary.
During the Lakers’ 80th season of existence (they were founded back in 1946 as the Detroit Gems in the National Basketball League), LeBron Wire is taking a look at each player who has worn their jersey, whether it has been a purple and gold one or the ones they donned back in the Midwest during their early years.
Jabari Brown, a 6-foot-4 guard, came to the Lakers in September 2014 as an undrafted free agent after one season at the University of Oregon and two years at the University of Missouri. He spent much of the 2014-15 season with the Lakers’ NBA Development League (now G League) affiliate, but he appeared in 19 games with the Purple and Gold and averaged 11.9 points a game while shooting 37.1% from 3-point range.
Brown never played again in the NBA afterward. He had short stints in China with the Jilin Northeast Tigers and the Jiangsu Dragons Kentier, as well as the Santa Cruz Warriors and the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the G League after his NBA stint ended.
