It’s one of the games of the night in Ohio high school football.
The Division IV state semifinal pitting Glenville against Indian Valley features the two schools that have combined to win each of the last three OHSAA D-IV state championships. The Tarblooders won in 2022 and 2023, while the Braves won in 2024.
The other D-IV semifinal pits Shelby against Indian Hill.
On this side of the bracket, Glenville and Indian Valley will both feel they can add another state title to their trophy case.
The Tarblooders won last Friday night over Perry, 35-7. The team coached by Ted Ginn Sr. that churns out Division I prospects is always a formidable foe. They’re trying to rebound from being eliminated by Sandusky Perkins last year before Indian Valley beat Perkins in the state final.
Indian Valley has won its last 28 football games, going 16-0 a season ago and now 12-0 this season. The Braves are led by superstar running back Grady Kinsey, who recently became the OHSAA’s all-time leader in rushing touchdowns. The Air Force-commit is a true candidate for Ohio’s Mr. Football award.
