Wisconsin wide receiver Vinny Anthony showed out in the first half against the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Saturday.
Anthony, who had tallied 27 catches for 299 yards and a score through the air over the first 13 weeks of the year, erupted for a 67-yard catch in the first half against the Golden Gophers in Minnesota.
The moment arrived with roughly two minutes to spare in the first half of play. With snow falling, quarterback Hunter Simmons dropped back near the Badgers‘ 20-yard line and lofted a deep pass down the right sideline to Anthony. The veteran wideout reeled in the dart, stiff-armed Minnesota defensive back Koi Perich and raced all the way to Minnesota’s five-yard line.
The Badgers, who were down 10-0 before the burst, ultimately capitalized with a one-yard touchdown pass to veteran Jackson Acker. At halftime, UW trails Minnesota by a field goal.

The sequence was the longest catch of Anthony’s career as a Badger, and it provided the spark Wisconsin required to ignite any type of offensive momentum. His previous long of 63 arrived in 2024, while he returned a kick against the Alabama Crimson Tide for 95 yards earlier this season.
Anthony and the Badgers will look to capitalize off the moment in the second half against the Golden Gophers.
