Who did Michigan lose to this year?
Michigan lost two games to ranked teams earlier in the year: Oklahoma and USC.
The Sooners beat the Wolverines on Sept. 6. Oklahoma won 24-13 that day as transfer quarterback John Mateer put together a good performance while the Brent Venables-coached OU defense gave Michigan freshman Bryce Underwood a bunch of trouble.
Michigan responded to that defeat with three consecutive wins.

But on Oct. 11, Michigan went to USC and lost, 31-13.
The Wolverines were never really in that game against the West Coast’s Big Ten standout.
Since losing to USC, Michigan beat Washington, Michigan State, Purdue, Northwestern and Maryland. None of those teams were ranked, but the Wolverines took care of business to bring a 9-2 record into The Game.
