Falcons TE Feleipe Franks doubtful to return vs. Jets

Falcons tight end Feleipe Franks is doubtful to return after suffering a calf injury during the second quarter of Sunday’s road matchup against the New York Jets.

Franks, who is largely a special teams factor after switching from quarterback to tight end in the NFL, had not recorded any numbers on the stat sheet at the time of his injury. Throughout the season, Franks has had some bright moments in his current role, but has also raised some issues with some of his extracurriculars on the field.

Just a week before, Franks taunted the New Orleans Saints bench and was fined over $8,000 for it.

Franks played out his college career with the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Florida Gators, signing with the Falcons after the 2021 NFL draft. After a short stint with the Carolina Panthers, the Falcons brought him back this season.

The Falcons trailed the Jets, 7-0 near the end of the second quarter after bouncing back from a five-game losing streak with a Week 12 win over the New Orleans Saints.
