Get ready volleyball fans, it’s officially time to dance. The 2025 NCAA volleyball tournament is just around the corner, and the selection show will come to screens Sunday.

As usual, this year’s bracket will consist of 64 teams — 31 conference champions and 33 at-large selections made by the committee. The tournament will last nearly three weeks, culminating in the Final Four and championship match, this year held in Kansas City.

The 2025 season has been filled with breakout programs, upsets and thrilling outcomes, and this year’s tournament will be no different. Can Nebraska pull off an undefeated season, or will Kentucky, Texas or Stanford claw their way back to the top?

There’s no telling what might happen, but the excitement starts this weekend.

NCAA volleyball tournament selection format

The selection committee will decide which 64 teams will go dancing in the NCAA volleyball tournament. Of those teams, 31 teams qualify automatically by winning their conference with the remaining 33 given at-large bids.

The top 16 teams will host the first and second rounds at their college campus. The winner of both single-elimination matches moves onto regionals.

Regional matches will be hosted at the campuses of the top four teams in the tournament. Matches will once again be single-elimination, the winner of the regional semifinals facing off in the regional finals for a spot in the national semifinals.

The national semifinals and championship match will be played at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
