The Indianapolis Colts made a surprise addition to the injury report this weekend after the team added tight end Tyler Warren.
Warren did practice in full all week, but the rookie tight end was added to the injury report on Saturday because of an illness, which led to him getting the questionable tag.
Here’s what we know about Warren’s chances of suiting up in the Week 13 contest against the Houston Texans on Sunday afternoon.
Is Tyler Warren playing today?
UPDATE: According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Warren is battling a stomach virus but is expected to play in Week 13.
“Colts TE Tyler Warren, who is listed as questionable because of an illness, is battling a stomach virus,” Pelissero reported. “They’ll monitor him this morning, but all indications are he’ll play today vs. the Texans.”
END OF UPDATE
There is no concrete answer to this question yet, so we’ll have to make an educated guess.
Given the fact that Warren is only dealing with an illness and not a physical injury, we would say there’s a very good chance he’ll be ready to go on Sunday despite being a late addition to the injury report.
Tyler Warren start or sit advice
Entering Week 13, Warren ranks as TE7 overall in terms of fantasy points per game, which makes him a borderline TE1 and every-week starting option.
The Texans do present a tough matchup, as Houston is ceding the sixth-fewest fantasy points per game to the position.
However, Warren has simply been too good this season to sit him under any circumstances. We would temper expectations, though.
Verdict: Start
