LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Lakers announced Sunday that LeBron James has been downgraded to out for tonight’s matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans due to left foot injury management.

James, who has only played in for games this season. was initially listed as questionable, but the team updated his status hours before tipoff, marking another game he will miss as the Lakers continue to monitor his workload and long-term health.

The 21-time All-Star has dealt with lingering foot issues dating back to last season, and the organization has been cautious with back-to-back schedules and higher-risk availability windows.

James’ absence leaves a significant void for Los Angeles, as the 40-year-old has continued to play at an elite level even into his record 23rd NBA season.
