The 6-3, 310 pounder transferred to Carver High School for his senior season after spending his first three years at Chattahootchee. Simmons responded with six sacks from his interior position to go along with 26 tackles for loss. The late-rising prospect also picked up late offers from Mississippi State and Colorado.
Simmons projects as a nose tackle for the Volunteers. He’s ranks just inside of the top 1,500 prospect in the country, per 247Sports. This is clearly one where Tennessee is going to trust their evaluation here with Rodney Garner, which they’ve had plenty of success with in the past.
Tennessee hosted Simmons for the Oklahoma game last month and got him back on campus this week, where he informed the staff of his decision. Simmons is the cousin of former Georgia edge rusher Jarvis Jones.
Simmons is the fourth projected defensive lineman in Tennessee’s 2026 class. The Volunteers are back up to 24 total names in the 2026 class, which currently ranks top ten across all outlets. Expect more fireworks tomorrow as Tennessee will be looking to flip a handful of targets to round out the group.
