First Ronda Rousey, now … Gina Carano?
It wasn’t too long ago in late September that Rousey, a former UFC women’s bantamweight champion and Hall of Famer, shared a video of herself training as she claimed to be “finding my love for it again,” which got fans talking about the possibility of a return to the cage.
Now just a few months later, it’s Carano, another legendary female MMA pioneer, who’s got fans talking about her possibly returning to the sport after she posted a video of herself on X in which she is training with coach John Wood at Syndicate MMA in Las Vegas.
Grateful to be here for my health, the people around me, the people who inspire me and the desire to do better. ♥️ pic.twitter.com/0qY19Chrz5

Carano posted her video on the heels of a Monday report that Rousey is in talks to have a boxing match with Katie Taylor in 2026. Coincidence? We think not.
Cris Cyborg, who made history with Carano in 2009 when their Strikeforce championship fight marked the first time two women headlined a major MMA event, jumped into the replies to offer Carano “some help with camp.”
Love it!
Lemme know if you want some help with camp 🙏🏽— CrisCy₿org.Com (@criscyborg) December 1, 2025
Carano’s post also garnered a lot of excitement and seemed to impress a lot of fans, with one raving that “Gina Carano should fight at the White House,” an event the UFC is expected to host next June.
Gina Carano should fight at the White House July 4th event MMA. One last time..

Carano, 43, is considered the first mainstream female MMA star, who went 7-1 during her career from 2006-2009. She was able to parlay her MMA stardom into an acting career as she appeared in various action films such as “Haywire” (2011), “Fast & Furious 6” (2013), “In The Blood” (2014), and “Deadpool” (2016).
Carano caught her big break in Hollywood when she was cast as Cara Dune in the Disney+ show “The Mandalorian” (2018), a role she played in Seasons 1 and 2 of the “Star Wars” universe hit. In 2021, Carano was fired from the show after she likened republicans to victims of Nazi Germany. Carano later filed a lawsuit against Disney and Lucasfilm over her firing and eventually reached a settlement for an undisclosed amount of money.
