Jared Curtis denying Vanderbilt news shouldn't scare fans

Five-star 2026 high school football prospect Jared Curtis claimed on Tuesday he hasn’t yet made a decision on his college destination.

However, Vanderbilt fans elated at the news the Nashville Christian quarterback had flipped his commitment from Georgia to the Commodores probably shouldn’t fret.

On social media, Curtis posted that he wasn’t sure where Tuesday’s news came from and that he’s yet to speak to either Georgia or Vanderbilt about his future ahead of his expected Wednesday decision.

However, Curtis probably wants to save the official surprise of his Vandy decision for his hat ceremony before he signs with the Nashville-based SEC school.

Revealing which school you’re choosing from a selection of hats is a tried-and-true tradition in high school recruiting. Curtis deserves to break the news himself just as much as any preps athlete does, after all.

It’s a big deal that a local kid with such promise is sticking around to play at Vandy. Why would he want his reveal ruined by insider scoops? He’s well within his right to deny until he’s ready to share.

High school recruiting is already such a fraught process as it is. Curtis clearly just wants to let everyone know about his decision himself. While the cat is probably out of the bag now, Vandy fans probably just need to wait another day until the news comes from Curtis.

If you’re a Georgia fan, we guess you can still hold out hope. However, the insider scoops are… most likely right.
