Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker left their matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers early on Monday night due to an apparent groin injury.
Booker started the contest normally at Crypto.com Arena, and he dropped 11 points in the opening quarter. But he checked out with just more than two minutes left in the period, and he never returned. It’s not clear when Booker actually injured himself on Monday night, but the Suns quickly him out with a right groin injury.
Further specifics are not yet known.
Booker had three assists and two rebounds to go with his 11 points when he left the game. He entered the night averaging 25.7 points, 6.9 assists and 4.4 rebounds per contest this season, his 11th in the league.
While it’s surely coincidental, this is now the third time in the last four years that Booker has injured his groin in December. He missed 20 games due to a groin injury in 2022, and then missed five games last season.
The Suns entered Monday night with a 12-9 record, having lost three of their last four.
This post will be updated with more information shortly.
