The Chicago Bears are currently 9-3 on the 2025 season and sit in the first place of the NFC North, two outcomes that were highly unexpected from the national spotlight.
Chicago’s recent win over the Philadelphia Eagles, 24-15, served as announcement to the league that this season has not been a fluke as the Bears sit atop the NFC North and the NFC as a whole.
In the first 11 games, Chicago had one of the easiest strengths of schedule and went 8-3, despite starting 0-2 against the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions. Veteran leader and team captain Kevin Byard discussed the team’s elevation to the national spotlight, saying they’ve never focused on the outside noise.
“We’ve talked about this all year about being resilient,” Byard said, via Marquee Sports Network. “We don’t really care about what the national narrative is about this team. Whoever they put in front of us on our schedule, we just line them up and try to knock them down. I think we’re doing a really good job of that.”
After a statement win against the Eagles, the Bears will now face the Green Bay Packers in two of their next three games, as the rivalry heats up between the top two teams in the division. They may have been overlooked for most of this season up to this point, but Chicago has now proven they’re a serious threat, not only in their division, but the conference.
