Inter Milan veteran Henrikh Mkhitaryan is reportedly in the frame to start the upcoming Champions League clash against Liverpool.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the 36-year-old is expected to return to the starting XI after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Therefore, he has missed Inter’s last five Serie A matches, as well as a Champions League trip to Atletico Madrid.

However, the former Roma midfielder has now returned to full fitness.

Mkhitaryan came on as a second-half substitute in yesterday’s 5-1 thrashing of Venezia in the Coppa Italia.

Moreover, he picked up an assist, setting up Ange-Yoan Bonny for Inter’s fifth goal.

Yet, Cristian Chivu may not risk the Nerazzurri stalwart in Saturday’s league clash against Como.

However, after losing at the Metropolitano Stadium, Inter must avoid another European upset.

As such, Mkhitaryan could make only his second Champions League start of the season when Inter face Liverpool next week.
