Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) two-division Conor McGregor is no longer facing a 2023 sexual assault lawsuit after the case was officially dismissed this week in U.S. District Court.
According to court documents obtained by The Athletic, Senior Judge Joan A. Lenard of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida dismissed the civil lawsuit “with prejudice” on Dec. 3, 2025. The ruling permanently prevents the plaintiff — identified only as “Jane Doe” — from refiling the case.
The lawsuit stemmed from an alleged incident at the 2023 NBA Finals in Miami. The woman, described in filings as a 49-year-old business executive, accused McGregor of sexually assaulting her inside a men’s restroom at Kaseya Center following Game 4 on June 9, 2023. She filed the civil suit on Jan. 14, 2025, naming both McGregor and the Miami Heat organization as defendants. Prosecutors in Florida did not pursue criminal charges.
According to the complaint, the woman and McGregor initially spoke inside the arena’s Courtside Club before the fighter allegedly took her by the hand and escorted her into the men’s restroom, where the assault was said to have occurred. The Miami Heat and Kaseya Center were included as co-defendants due to their oversight of the venue.
McGregor consistently denied all allegations.
The dismissal arrives while McGregor remains on the sidelines in his UFC career. The former two-division UFC champion hasn’t fought since breaking his leg (see it here) against Dustin Poirier in 2021. McGregor plans to make his return at the historic UFC White House card next June.
For now, at least, one of McGregor’s major legal battles has come to a definitive end.
