Cross country: CBA caps epic season with 3rd-place finish at nationals

Perhaps the best season in the storied history of Christian Brothers Academy cross country ended with a third-place finish at the Nike Nationals.

The Colts compiled 110 points at the national meet, behind only champion Niwot of Colorado (61 points) and Herriman of Utah (97 points) in a 22-team field at Glendoveer Golf Course in Portland, Oregon. Haddonfield, which also represented New Jersey, placed ninth with 286 points.

Senior Luke Hnatt, the New Jersey state champion, paced the Colts with a 17th-place finish in a time of 15:30 for the 3.1-mile course. He was followed to the line by junior Gavin Schmitt (27th place, 15:39), senior Wyatt Falkowski (52nd, 15:56), senior Ryan Collins (69th, 16:07) and senior Sean Galvin (84th, 16:18).
