Indiana football pass rusher leaves game vs Ohio State. What we know

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana football defensive end Mikail Kamara was injured in the third quarter of the Big Ten title game.

The No 2 Hoosiers defensive lineman appeared to suffer a lower body injury — he didn’t put any of his weight on right leg as trainers helped him off the field — and went to the injury tent. Kamara, who was named All-Big Ten honorable mention this week, led IU with 46 quarterback pressures this season, per PFF.

Indiana‘s training staff took his helmet after a lengthy discussion on the sidelines after his brief stint in the injury tent. Daniel Ndukwe came into the game for Kamara the next time OSU had the ball.

Kamara was given his helmet back and was testing out his injury at the opposite end of the field. Coach Curt Cignetti pointed and Kamara raced down the sideline to join his team, and went in the snap after that exchange.

Indiana lost leading receiver Omar Cooper Jr. to an injury on the opening drive of the game. He suffered a leg injury and didn’t return to the game.
