Social media reacts to Alabama's CFP fate, opponent announced

The Alabama Crimson Tide are officially in the 12-team College Football Playoff (CFP) field.

Yes, on Sunday afternoon, the Crimson Tide’s CFP fate was officially revealed, as Alabama was ranked the nation’s No. 9 team in the committee’s latest Top 25, even despite a 28-7 defeat to Georgia in the SEC Championship Game on Saturday night.

As a result, Alabama did make the 12-team CFP field after missing out last season, with the Crimson Tide matched up against No. 8 seeded Oklahoma in the first round. A road game in Norman, which is also a rematch from a 23-21 win for Oklahoma in Tuscaloosa earlier this season, Alabama and Oklahoma will play Friday, Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN and ABC.

Taking a look at the bracket as well, whoever wins during the first round in Norman will advance to face No. 1 overall seed Indiana in the Rose Bowl. After that matchup, the CFP semifinal would then take place in Atlanta for the Peach Bowl, followed by the national championship in Miami.

Let’s take a look at a few reactions from social media Sunday afternoon to the Crimson Tide’s announced CFP fate.
