Rams take back No. 1 seed in NFC with help from Packers

The Los Angeles Rams are right back where they belong: atop the NFC.

One week after giving away the No. 1 seed in the conference with a bad loss to the Carolina Panthers, the Rams took over control of the NFC’s top spot with their win over the Arizona Cardinals and some help from the Green Bay Packers.

The Chicago Bears, who were the No. 1 seed for one week, lost to the Packers on Sunday to drop out of the lead in the conference and the NFC North, as well. The Rams jumped to the No. 1 seed and the Bears fell all the way to No. 7.

Here’s a look at the latest standings in the NFC and the current playoff picture.

  1. Rams: 10-3 (NFC West)
  2. Packers: 9-3-1 (NFC North)
  3. Eagles: 8-4 (NFC East, plays MNF)
  4. Buccaneers: 7-6 (NFC South)
  5. Seahawks: 10-3 (WC)
  6. 49ers: 9-4 (WC)
  7. Bears: 9-4 (WC)

The Rams face the Lions, who are 8-5, in Week 15 before taking on the Seahawks on the road in Week 16. Those are two critical games for Los Angeles before facing the Falcons and Cardinals in the final two weeks.

If the Rams win their next two games, they’ll have a great chance to finish as the conference’s top seed with a first-round bye.
