Manchester United centre-back Ayden Heaven says Ruben Amorim is showing “a lot” of trust in him by picking him for back-to-back Premier League games.

The 19-year-old featured against West Ham last Thursday but was substituted for Lenny Yoro at half-time after a challenging opening 45 minutes against the Hammers’ frontline.

He said he didn’t feel “rusty” in that game and was “confident,” but appreciated the United boss giving him another chance on Monday at Wolves.

“There’s so many great defenders at this club that he’s trusting you to be at the middle of that defence,” he said. “He’s trusting me a lot.

“I feel like I’m working hard every day in training and I’m showing he can trust me in the games that I’m playing.

“I thought I was a good player but I knew that I first had to gain the trust of the manager and slowly I know I’m doing that. I feel like I’m doing well at the moment, but I’ve just got to keep working.”

Heaven, who signed from Arsenal in February this year, says he is also learning from defenders and teammates Noussair Mazraoui and Luke Shaw and relishes playing alongside them.

“I’m enjoying it because knowing you have that experience around you, you are not scared to go on the front foot and not scared of what you leave behind either,” Heaven added. “They’re always there when I need them.”
