Nebraska men’s basketball came in at No. 22 overall in the USA Today Coaches Poll. It’s the first time the Huskers have been ranked since December 2018.
The ranking comes after Nebraska defeated the Creighton Blue Jays 71-50. The Huskers improved to 9-0 on the season, marking the best start since 1977-78. The program has won 13 straight games dating back to last season, as Fred Hoiberg and this group have been on a roll.
The program will face its first Big Ten opponent on Wednesday, taking on the Wisconsin Badgers. That will undoubtedly be a test, with a full slate of conference play right around the corner in January.
For now, Nebraska basketball is building a strong program. Conference play will ultimately be a solid test for this group, as they look to continue this winning streak and etch their place in program history.
The Huskers return to the court on Wednesday night when they host Wisconsin at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT on the Big Ten Network.
