By virtue of being named the No. 5 seed in the 2025 College Football Playoff, the Oregon Ducks were awarded a home playoff game against the No. 12-seeded James Madison Dukes.
Hosting a playoff game is a first for the Oregon program, as they claimed a first-round bye a season ago in the first year of the expanded 12-team playoff. The home game allows for each of the quarterfinal and semifinal contests to be apart of what was known as the New Years Six bowls (Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Orange Bowl, Peach Bowl and Fiesta Bowl) with the national championship game being considered simply the College Football Playoff National Championship.
But from a fan perspective, the home games are an awesome new aspect of the expanded playoff, as it gives them another chance to watch their team in their home stadium.
For Duck fans, having the playoff game be at Autzen Stadium was considered a huge win when the bracket was released on Sunday — but it comes at a costly price.
Ticket sales were released to the public on Tuesday with the Ducks‘ X account promoting them on Ticketmaster. The lowest available ticket — after sitting in the queue for roughly a minute due to the immense traffic on the site — is going for $167, as of Dec. 9. Meanwhile, the most expensive ticket is going for $349.
Come be a part of history.

$167 is no light chunk of change, but it is worth adding some perspective considering that Oregon’s opponent is James Madison, a Group of Five program. The matchup between the No. 9 Alabama Crimson Tide and No. 8 Oklahoma Sooners, which projects as a closely-fought slugfest, has its lowest ticket listed at $257. Their most expensive ticket is over $2,000.
Tickets are subject to change as the days pass until kickoff on Dec. 20 at 4:30 p.m. PST — but Duck fans may want to purchase their tickets sooner rather than later to get in front of the likely sellout and be apart of program history.
