Steelers sign fourth-year offensive tackle ahead of Week 15

Following the decision to place OT Calvin Anderson on injured reserve, the Pittsburgh Steelers have signed a promising fourth-year offensive tackle off their practice squad to the 53-man roster.

Just three days after making his NFL debut in the 27-22 win over the Baltimore Ravens, OT Dylan Cook has been signed to Pittsburgh’s active roster off the practice squad, potentially setting him up for a starting opportunity against the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football.

Signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2022, Cook spent time on and off the practice squad before being waived by Tampa Bay on May 15, 2023. Three days later, Cook signed with Pittsburgh and even managed to make the final roster.

On and off the Steelers‘ practice squad over the next two seasons, Cook made the most of his opportunity in his NFL debut, filling in for an injured LT Andrus Peat and not allowing a single quarterback pressure on nine pass-blocking snaps.
