BUENA PARK, California, Dec. 12 — The Barstow [CA] Aztecs rallied from a 7-0 halftime deficit to defeat the Sutter [CA] Huskies, 17-7,Friday night in California’s CIF Division 4-AA state championship bowl game at Buena Park High School.
Barstow High School opened in 1915, and the football program had never won a state championship coming into this game. The Aztecs are also the first school from California’s High Desert region to ever win a state championship in football.
Barstow finishes the season with a 12-3 record while Sutter lost for just the second time in 2025 to fall to 13-2.
