Former Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson has now played four games with the Dallas Cowboys since his departure near the NFL trade deadline.
After the Bengals granted Wilson his trade request while leaning into the future with rookie linebackers Demetrius Knight and Barret Carter, there were ideas of Wilson making an immediate impact for Jerry Jones’ team.
So far, that hasn’t happened.
But don’t rule it out in the coming weeks, either.

Wilson has played 114 snaps for the Cowboys over four games. Written another way, 45 percent. He’s been credited with 13 tackles along the way and has a 51.2 PFF grade, good for 67th out of 88 graded players (Bengals rookies are 87th and 88th, for what it’s worth).
Oddly enough, after splitting time with Kenneth Murray for so long, Wilson was a topic of discussion for Jerry Jones this week:
Jerry Jones tells @OThankKevin, @inthemageors and @BobbyBeltTX that he thinks we’ll “see more of” Logan Wilson this Sunday against the Vikings.
[Logan Wilson] reads the blocks extremely well, and we need that. He’s reactive, he’s a natural in there. That’s big at linebacker.” pic.twitter.com/dAIRpwBe5a

Now that he’s acclimated to his new surroundings, perhaps Wilson starts to rewrite the narrative of his season down the stretch. The 6-6-1 Cowboys could certainly use the boost.
Wilson has an out built into his contract after this season; otherwise, he’s under contract in Dallas through the 2027 season, his age-31 season.
The Bengals, meanwhile, have an unknown future on that side of the ball after the Al Golden experience as defensive coordinator has largely backfired. Wilson hasn’t enjoyed a resurgence with his new team to make this whole thing look even worse just yet, but time hasn’t exactly run out just yet on the season, either.
