It is Victory Monday once again in the Rockies, and yet again, Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix is being recognized for his performance in a high-stakes game.
Against a top-10 Green Bay Packers defense, Nix put on a display of excellent quarterbacking, finishing 23-of-34 for 302 passing yards, four touchdowns and a 134.8 QBR. The four scores tied Nix’s career high, and was Nix’s second 300-yard passing game of the 2025 season. For his outstanding performance, Nix was nominated for NFL.com’s FedEx Air and Ground Player of the Week award.
Nix has some stiff competition for the award. Below are the other nominees:
- Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence: 20-of-32 attempts for 330 yards and five passing TD’s, 136.7 rating; five carries for 51 yards, rushing TD.
- 49ers QB Brock Purdy: 23-of-30 attempts for 295 yards and three passing TD’s, 140.3 rating.
- Rams WR Puka Nacua: nine catches for 181 yards
- Falcons TE Kyle Pitts: 11 catches for 166 yards and three TD’s.
- Jaguars RB Travis Etienne: 105 scrimmage yards (73 receiving, 32 rushing) and three receiving TD’s.
Early in the season, Nix looked skittish in the pocket, things were going slowly, and he was missing deep passes, open receivers, and making bad decisions with the football, leading to turnovers. In the past four games, Nix has looked poised in the pocket, keeping his eyes downfield, instead of immediately tucking and running with the ball. Nix has been calm, decisive, and delivering his best throws of the year in the biggest moments.
Up next for Nix and the Broncos is another playoff team in Week 16, against two of the players up for the award from the Jacksonville Jaguars. Denver could clinch the AFC West as early as next week. Fans can vote for Nix at NFL.com/FedEx.
