Many fans were left disgruntled over yet another controversial call in a Detroit Lions game.
In the Lions’ 41-34 loss to the Rams in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon, every single point mattered. So when a controversial touchdown call late in the third quarter popped up, many were quick to cry foul.
Rams tight end Colby Parkinson looked to be down at the 1-yard line, but it was ruled a 26-yard touchdown, even after review. That gave the Rams a 27-24 lead, that would, in part, ultimately lead to Detroit’s loss. FOX rules analyst Dean Blandino tried to explain the thought process behind the call, but he’s clearly not buying it.
“What they ruled is that Parkinson lost control and regained possession in the end zone—he had already broken the plane,” he said. “To me, that’s a stretch. Look, it was ruled a catch, he’s clearly down, that should be down at the 1. I can’t see how we’re keeping that touchdown.”

But they did keep that touchdown. Normally today I’d put together a “best reactions to the Lions win” article, but instead we’ll take a look at some of the reactions to this controversial call. Well, I tried to find some Rams fans with solid arguments for why it was a TD, but didn’t find nearly anything, so how controversial can the call be.
HUH??? Refs ruled this a Rams touchdown instead of putting the ball down on the 1 yard line where Parkinson’s knee was down… pic.twitter.com/vYa5VWAHzU

Not a TD, but I’ll leave Lions and Seahawks fans to complain to the league office.
Defense has to lock in.. Lots of game left.

Wait a minute..they called that a TD? Parkinson caught the ball but it sure looked like his knee was down. Nobody knows anything when it comes to what officiating is in the NFL

Wow they called it a touchdown, I also thought that was down at the 1.. which I thought we would’ve scored anyway

Sure, the Rams were going to score the very next play, but I’m not exaggerating when I say that’s the worst call I’ve ever seen stand. How in the world was that a Touchdown? #OnePride

This is the worst officiated season in the history of the NFL. Something needs to change, they are ruining the viewing experience.

This is why fans are screaming conspiracy theories that the NFL is fixed. How can you review that play and still call it a touchdown? #DETvsLA#LionsVSRams#Lions#Rams
