Every winter high school sport besides skiing is now up and running with the addition of girls basketball last week.
With the weather we’ve been having in the first half of December, there’s no reason ski teams in southern Michigan couldn’t get an early start this season. Technically, ski teams could begin competing on Dec. 6, but Livingston County teams won’t begin until Jan. 6.
Two wrestlers, a gymnast, a hockey player and a basketball player are on the second Livingston Daily Athlete of the Week ballot of the winter. Last week’s winner was Howell freshman wrestler Olive DiMassa.
Voting is open until 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17. Vote early, vote often.
