Caleb Williams will try to right wrongs from recent loss vs Packers

The Chicago Bears hope to get their revenge versus the Green Bay Packers on Saturday. All things appear to be in the Bears’ favor, but this team still needs to rewrite history and put an end to the Packers‘ years of dominance over them. Caleb Williams has a great chance to do that if he builds off his great performance last week against the Cleveland Browns, and if the rest of this Bears team will follow. Exactly how this Bears team starts on Saturday will likely indicate what kind of game it will be.

Here are my five expectations for the Bears versus the Packers in a rematch on Saturday:

Caleb’s efficient play continues

Caleb Williams built some great momentum last week, putting up a stellar performance in the cold against Cleveland. Last time around against Green Bay, it was Micah Parsons who was disrupting Caleb and generating a lot of pressure. Caleb, now facing a Packers defense, will be able to find his rhythm and be more comfortable in the pocket. Rashan Gary has not had a sack in the last 7 games, and Luke Van Ness has been less than what he was expected to be coming out of Iowa. The Bears’ offensive linemen should be able to handle this defensive line with ease. Even without Rome Odunze and potentially Luther Burden, Caleb still has Loveland, and the great playmaker D.J Moore can be. Things are trending in the direction of Caleb dominating the Packers on Saturday and making fewer mistakes than Jordan Love. I could very well see Caleb Williams throwing for close to 300 yards and 2 passing touchdowns, leading his team to a great win over their rival.

D’Andre Swift gets to 1000 yards rushing on the season

D’Andre Swift is currently 65 yards from a 1000-yard rushing season this year, and a Packers defense as banged up as it is will be the perfect defense for him to get to that mark against. Last game, Swift tallied up 63 yards rushing, most of which came in the second half. I think Ben Johnson calls a very balanced game, but Swift and Kyle Monangai get going early to start this game. I believe Swift will have over 70 yards rushing in this game and a touchdown, continuing his special season.

D.J. Moore has a big game

The Bears could be without both Luther Burden and Rome Odunze for Saturday’s game. Caleb and D.J. Moore showed off the best performance of their connection all season long last week versus the Browns. Caleb will look to D.J. early and often. Ben Johnson will scheme D.J. Moore open as well, and that will result in Moore having his best game of the season and a consecutive week with multiple receiving touchdowns. I think D.J. Moore will put up at least 100 yards in this game and have two touchdowns, maybe even a rushing touchdown as well, to go along with it. The Packers’ defense without Parsons is very getable, especially in the secondary, and this will be a great game for this passing attack to continue to trend in the right direction.

Bears get two interceptions on Jordan Love

Last time these two teams matched up, Jordan Love diced the Bears’ defense up, and his favorite target that game was Christian Watson. This time around, Watson may not be able to be good to go for this game with his chest injury, and Love may also be without his starting right tackle. The Packers’ offense will have many disadvantages in this game, and that will result in Jordan Love being careless. Love started last matchup’s game with an interception, but he then followed it up by playing elite for the rest of the game. This time around, just like last week, I think Love will throw two interceptions due to the fact that the Bears’ defense will have a better gameplan for him.

Austin Booker gets another sack in this game for a consecutive week

Austin Booker is coming off a two-sack performance against Shedeur Sanders, and I think there will be a great opportunity for Booker to build on that. Zach Tom, the Packers’ starting right tackle, has yet to practice this week. He hasn’t been fully ruled out for this game yet, but it will be challenging for him to be out there on the field after reinjuring his knee. With no Zach Tom or no Elton Jenkins, this is no longer an overly dominant offensive line. The Bears should be able to win their matchups, and Booker should be able to get some real changes to bring down Jordan Love for a sack or two. With the year Montez Sweat is having this season, he will draw the double teams and the most attention, creating a lot of opportunity for Booker to dominate.
