ATLANTA, Georgia, Dec. 17 — The No. 26 Thomas County Central [Thomasville, GA] Yellow Jackets will take on the Gainesville [GA] Red Elephants Wednesday night in Georgia’s GHSA Class 4A state championship game.
Thomas County Central enters the game undefeated at 14-0 while Gainesville is 12-2 with losses to the Class 6A runner-up Carrollton [GA] Trojans and the Class 5A semifinalist Roswell [GA] Hornets. And, yet, the game is consider a virtual coin flip with no with Thomas County Central only a slight favorite entering the game.
The Yellow Jackets will be looking for their second state championship in three years and their seventh overall while Gainesville will be seeking its first title since 2012.
Game time is set for a 8 p.m. EST local kick.
