With the conclusion of the NBA Cup on Tuesday, which had the New York Knicks take home their first NBA Cup championship in franchise history, the NBA announced its All-Tournament Team. Lakers star guard Luka Dončić was named on the team for his performances in group play and the quarterfinals.
Dončić joined stars Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Brunson, De’Aaron Fox, and Karl-Anthony Towns on the All-Tournament team.
The Slovenian received 11 votes among the 20 voters on the media panel. Brunson had the most votes with an anonymous 20 votes, with Gilgeous-Alexander right behind him with 18.

Dončić averaged 36.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and 10.0 assists in Cup games while shooting 48.7% from the field and 44.2% from 3-point range. The Lakers finished 4-0 in group play before being knocked out in the quarterfinals by the San Antonio Spurs.
The 26-year-old scored over 40 points twice in group play—44 points in Memphis and 43 points at home vs. the Clippers.
The Lakers currently hold the third-best record (fifth in the NBA) in the West with an 18-7 record and have won seven of their last 10 games in large part due to Dončić leading the NBA in scoring at 34.7 points (8.7 rebounds, 8.8 assists) a game.
