Harlequins have named Pat Metcalfe-Jones as their new head of women’s rugby.

Metcalfe-Jones steps up from her role as women’s pathway manager to work with head coach Ross Chisholm.

She becomes the permanent successor to Andy Rhys Jones, who was announced as Scottish Rugby’s head of women’s performance and pathways in October.

“It’s a huge honour to take on this role. I’ve seen first-hand the work Andy has done over recent years to drive the women’s programme at Harlequins forward and I’m excited to build on those strong foundations,” she told the club’s website.

“This is a hugely exciting opportunity, and I’m really looking forward to helping take the women’s programme to the next level at such a pivotal time for the women’s game.”

Metcalfe-Jones has also worked as head coach at the University of Surrey and for Wasps and England Rugby during her career.
