A schedule flex has the New England Patriots back in prime time, as they travel to Maryland to take on the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football.
Coming off their first loss in 83 days, the team of head coach Mike Vrabel will look bounce back on the road, where they are a perfect 6-0 on the season. A win would clinch a playoff spot for New England, while Lamar Jackson and the 7-7 Ravens are fighting to keep their own postseason hopes alive.

First Quarter
The Patriots won the coin toss and deferred, putting the defense on the field first vs. Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. A first-down play-action pass to Zay Flowers against a six-man Patriots front got the Ravens on the move with a 19-yard reception. Back-to-back runs from Henry then set up a 3rd-and-3, where Jackson bought time to find Flowers again for 18 more yards. The very next play, Henry took a handoff 21 yards untouched for a touchdown. Picking up an initial first-down on the ground, Drake Maye then struck downfield to Stefon Diggs, who hauled in a 25-yard completion through contact to set New England up outside the red zone. Then keeping the offense on the field facing a 4th-and-1, Maye kept it himself to move the chains. New England then went backwards to set up a 3rd-and-14 in which Maye escaped pressure and moved to his right before firing a low interception.
Baltimore took over at their own four-yard line following the interception but found some breathing room with back-to-back runs to pick up a new set of downs. After moving the chains again on the ground, Jackson struck big plays through the air hitting Flowers for 14 yards the play before finding tight end Mark Andrews for an additional 18. New England’s defense then made a much needed play, as Jaylinn Hawkins punched a ball out on Henry that Craig Woodson recovered.
Second Quarter
New England took over at their own 32-yard line after the turnover and a defensive holding call moved the chains on third-down. Spread out five wide on a 3rd-and-short over midfield, Maye found his tight end Hunter Henry over the ball for five yards and a new set of downs. A run stuff by safety Kyle Hamilton led to a 3rd-and-13 where Maye stood in a clean pocket to find Mack Hollins over the middle for a big 20-yard gain. Maye stayed attacking, as the next play he found Austin Hooper down the right sideline for 26 yards to the one-yard line. The next play, Maye continued working to his tight ends as he found Henry off play-action for a one-yard score. [Patriots 7 : 7 Ravens]
A drop by Deandre Hopkins and run stuff had Baltimore facing a 3rd-and-9, where New England’s defense quickly got off the field as Jackson’s pass was incomplete with Christian Barmore barreling down on him.
Back with the ball facing a 3rd-and-3, Maye found Stefon Diggs on a crosser against man coverage for a 33-yard gain to get the offense threatening again. Just outside the red zone, Maye was caught from behind for a sack to set-up a 3rd-and-12 where a pass downfield was incomplete. On the play, backup right tackle Thayer Munford, who was in for an injured Morgan Moses, stayed down. Andy Borregales’ 45-yard field goal was then good. [Patriots 10 : 7 Ravens]
A second-down run stuff from Khyiris Tonga set the Ravens offense up with an opening 3rd-and-4. Bringing pressure, New England could not get home which allowed Jackson to find Flowers, who beat Christian Gonzalez in the slot, to move the chains. The following third-down saw the Patriots bring pressure again but Jackson found Hopkins to move the chains into New England territory. On the other side of the two-minute warning, a blown-up run led by Jahlani Tavai forced Baltimore into a 3rd-and-12. With Tyler Huntley replacing Lamar at QB, a screen picked up just nine yards and lead to a field goal. [Patriots 10 : 10 Ravens]
Morgan Moses returned to the field at right tackle as the Patriots offense set up with 1:03 left in the half and one timeout. A second-down completion to Kayshon Boutte along the right sideline picked up 16 yards to start the drive before Maye found Diggs for 11 more. On 3rd-and-2, pressure got home and punched the ball loose from Maye which the Ravens recovered with 19 seconds left in the half.
Chaos continued in the first-half as a completion Mark Andrews saw illegally throw it forward before offsetting penalties negated the play. Baltimore then took a knee.
Third Quarter
New England started the second-half with the football in a tie game and immediately faced a 3rd-and-6 after back-to-back passes. From the gun, Maye’s target to Diggs was contested by Nate Wiggins and incomplete leading to a punt.
Tyler Huntley started the second-half under center for the Ravens with Jackson (back) questionable to return. Baltimore then turned back to Henry who broke free to the left edge for a 23-yard gain. New England’s defense then responded with a run stuff and then sack by Anfernee Jennings to force a 3rd-and-18, where Huntley’s pass to Hopkins was complete but short of the first-down. A 56-yard field goal attempt by Tyler Loop was no good short.
The Patriots took over at the 46-yard line following the missed kick and a second-down check down to Rhamondre Stevenson saw the back evade defenders en route to 23 yards. Just outside the red zone facing a 3rd-and-2, an empty set led to Maye taking a shot to the end zone for Stevenson which just missed the backs outstretched finger tips. Back trailing, a false start penalty on pushed Baltimore backed into a 3rd-and-5 where a pass to Hopkins along the sideline was ruled a catch after a challenge from John Harbaugh. A facemark penalty on Christian Elliss on the following completion pushed Baltimore just outside the red zone, where the Ravens needed two plays to find the end zone as Flowers took a reverse 18 yards for a score. With New England now trailing, a botched first-down handoff resulted in a seven-yard loss to start their next drive. A completion to Henry gained back some of the yardage to set up a 3rd-and-5, where Maye escaped pressure to find Kayshon Boutte for a first-down before the receiver was flagged for pass interference. Now in a 3rd-and-15, Maye stayed aggressive and stepped up to find Stefon Diggs for 23 yards. Back-to-back incompletions found New England in another 3rd-and-long before pressure led to a throwaway and punt — which the Patriots faked with no success as Marte Mapu could not get a pass off and was brought down.
