Texans WR Nico Collins named AFC Pro Bowl starter for 2025 season

Welcome back to the Pro Bowl, Nico Collins

The Houston Texans‘ star pass-catcher was named to the Pro Bowl roster on Tuesday, alongside teammates Will Anderson Jr., Azeez Al-Shaair and Derek Stingley Jr. All four players were named to the starting roster, with the previous three being named to the Pro Bowl before the 2025 season.

Collins, who recently joined Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins as the only other player in franchise history to post three straight 1,000-yard receiving seasons, now joins Hopkins as the only Texans receiver to earn back-to-back Pro Bowl berths since DeAndre Hopkins in 2017-19. Among the top 10 in receiving, Collins has totaled  68 catches for 1,060 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games.

Around the NFL, the Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks lead all teams in Pro Bowl players with six each. As for depth, Texans safety Calen Bullock, nickel defender Jalen Pitre and cornerback Kamari Lassiter were listed as Pro Bowl alternates.

While the Pro Bowl title is nice to the sound of names around the NFL, the goal is for Houston not to have any players partake in the Pro Bowl since it’ll be playing in the Super Bowl come February 10. Should the Texans miss the Super Bowl and have representatives show up the week prior for events, culminating in a flag football game on Feb. 3.

The event will be held in San Francisco.

The Texans return to the field on Saturday to take on the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium.
