Colts place DeForest Buckner and 2 other players on injured reserve

The Indianapolis Colts have officially placed defensive tackle DeForest Buckner on injured reserve.

He will miss the remainder of the 2025 season.

Head coach Shane Steichen said on Friday that Buckner will undergo a procedure. He does expect Buckner to play next season.

Buckner had been sidelined since Week 9 with a neck injury. Last week’s game against San Francisco was his first game back. Steichen said that Buckner re-aggravated the neck injury in that game.

When Buckner was out previously, Adetomiwa Adebawore stepped into a larger role next to Grover Stewart, while Chris Wormley rounded out the defensive tackle rotation. Neville Gallimore continued to have a steady role as well.

Along with Buckner, tight end Drew Ogletree and wide receiver Anthony Gould were placed on injured reserve as well.

Ogletree suffered a neck injury against San Francisco, while Gould has missed the last two games with a foot injury.

Without Ogletree, Tyler Warren and Mo Alie-Cox will shoulder the workload at tight end, with Will Mallory providing depth. Ashton Dulin, who has been activated from IR, and Josh Downs could help on the return units without Gould.
