That meant the load was always likely to be heavy on Liverpool’s five title-winning midfielders.

And all five have suffered injuries in varying degrees – as Arne Slot has no choice but to rotate those five options time and again. It has perhaps been surprising that Slot to this point hasn’t delved into whatever resources he’s got beyond those five.
He could have for example opted to utilise Trey Nyoni a lot more – but the 18-year-old has only played a single Premier League minute to this point.
Liverpool seeking perfect deal for Nyoni
Big things are expected from the England youth international in the years ahead but he has struggled for game time under this manager.
And now it’s emerged that Nyoni could be set for a loan move in January as Slot and Richard Hughes try to find him the crucial first-team minutes he deserves.
“A number of Premier League and Championship clubs have enquired as well as sides from Europe,” a report in TEAMtalk reads.
“Liverpool would ideally like to find the perfect move for him, but that is sometimes easier said than done.”
