The Pittsburgh Steelers might find themselves on the wrong side of history this Sunday.

Cleveland Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett is one sack away from breaking the single-season sack record, currently held by former New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan since 2001, with a remarkable total of 22.5 sacks.

Garrett noted that it would be an honor to break the record, taking down Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

“He’s legendary himself and it’s a legendary record I’m here chasing,” Garrett said on Friday. “That’d be a great one to put a picture on the wall with.”

There’s a possibility that Garrett will break the sack record this Sunday, but it might not be against Rodgers. The Steelers have a chance to clinch the AFC North on Saturday if the Baltimore Ravens lose to the Green Bay Packers.

Often, teams will give their starters a break if they’ve already secured a playoff spot and have little chance of improving their position in the standings. With Rodgers being 42, head coach Mike Tomlin might consider resting him for a few weeks leading up to the playoffs.

It will be interesting to see how the Steelers will handle Garrett since they don’t want to be on the other side of his story.
