Sitting out the past two games with a calf injury, Pittsburgh Steelers CB James Pierre received some troubling news ahead of the Week 17 matchup against the Cleveland Browns.
Despite logging back-to-back practices as a limited participant to open the week, Pierre downgraded to a non-participant on Friday, leaving the Steelers little choice but to rule out their starting cornerback.

In his sixth season with Pittsburgh, Pierre emerged as a starting cornerback thanks to multiple outstanding performances against some of the best wide receivers the league has to offer.
Although itās troubling Pierre took a step backward toward his return to the field, his next opportunity to suit up will come in Week 18 against the Baltimore Ravens, but the Steelers may choose to hold him out until the postseason should they clinch a playoff berth this weekend.
