Sports wouldn’t be as fun without a little friendly wager now and then. The best ones usually involve a little bit of embarrassment, so when it comes to losing a bet, nothing can be more annoying than having to wear another team’s jersey.
On Saturday, former Texas A&M star running back and Miami Dolphins standout De’Von Achane apparently made good on a wager. Based on Achane wearing a Miami Hurricanes jersey and throwing up the “U” in a social media photo, it’s safe to say he lost a bet on the Aggies vs. Miami game in the first round of the CFP. It’s fun to see he was a good sport about it, and that’s what light‑hearted fun is all about in this era of college athletics.
Achane is having a career year and is knocking on the door of earning an All‑Pro nod in the future. He is also making a case for a big payday coming up soon, as he is the majority of the Dolphins’ offense this season. With two games left in the regular season, he is third in the league in rushing yards (1,267), tied for ninth in total touchdowns (12), fifth in total yards (1,726), and first in yards per carry (5.8).
He might be a Pro Bowler, but that didn’t save him from getting out of a bet, as you can see below.
