After some rumors and reports surfaced about one of the Iowa Hawkeyes‘ veteran defensive backs, TJ Hall, surfaced, there seems to have been a course correction coming directly from the program itself.
Just a few days ago, it was reported that TJ Hall’s status for Iowa’s Reliaquest Bowl matchup against the Vanderbilt Commodores was in serious question, and even doubtful. Since Iowa has gotten down to Tampa, that song has begun to sing a different tune.
Iowa defensive coordinator put those rumors to rest today with a very clear statement that Hall would be ready to go for Iowa’s bowl game.
“Yeah. Somebody said there was a rumor about him, but he’s doing well. He’s back in shape, and we could have probably played him in the last game against Nebraska in an emergency. He’s doing well. He doesn’t have a problem,” Phil Parker said about TJ Hall’s status.
TJ Hall, a product of San Joaquin Memorial High School and Fresno, California, has played four years with the Hawkeyes, earning time every season. He has appeared in 41 games with 17 starts under his belt. During his time with the Hawkeyes, Hall has registered 67 total tackles with 12 pass deflections and two interceptions.
Hall and the Iowa Hawkeyes are set to face the Vanderbilt Commodores from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, in the Reliaquest Bowl, which is set to kick off at 11 a.m. CT on Wednesday, December 31, and air on ESPN.
