The Cincinnati Bengals, at least to outsiders, do not vibe like a team about to replace head coach Zac Taylor this offseason.
There was, after that, that mighty convenient recent report that Taylor signed something of a secret extension with the team that keeps him in town through 2027. Originally, the public thought his contract was up after 2026.
Still, if the Bengals do move on, they’ll have the top head-coaching destination in the NFL.
And they’ll have suggested options such as Brian Flores, as proposed by Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton:
“Though Burrow’s extended absence significantly hurt the Bengals’ playoff chances, the organization should be concerned with Taylor’s inability to put together a quality staff. Last offseason, Cincinnati fired two key assistants, offensive line coach Frank Pollack and defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo.”

Taylor’s struggles to put together a strong staff date back to the Jim Turner days on the offensive line, as does his perceived inability to manage both sides of the ball well.
Flores was a solid head coach in Miami had the lawsuit with the NFL in the aftermath of that tenure.
That said, he’s an elite defensive mind and perfect fit for those who would like to see the Bengals get a defensive-minded head coach and pair him with an offensive coordinator who meshes well with Joe Burrow.
