In a fiery sideline clash during a Week 17 game between the New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders, backup quarterback Jameis Winston fiercely defended quarterbacks coach Shea Tierney after Raiders safety Jamal Adams got in the coach’s face.
The incident sparked following a catch by Giants receiver Wan’Dale Robinson that brought the play near the sideline. Adams approached aggressively, confronting Tierney, prompting Winston — the veteran backup to rookie starter Jaxson Dart — to step between them.

Video shows Winston nose-to-nose with Adams, shouting intensely while extending his arms to restrain teammates and prevent escalation. The two exchanged shoves before referees and players intervened, separating the group without flags.
Known for his mild-mannered, humorous persona and positive public transformation over the years, Winston’s rare display of heat was striking.
With both 2-13 teams frustrated in a largely meaningless contest affecting only the No. 1 draft pick in the 2026 NFL draft, emotions boiled over. The Giants eventually took home the victory, 34-10, and Winston celebrated in kind.
