Trevor Lawrence’s career year has the Jaguars looking fantastic

Jacksonville didn’t need a vintage passing performance from Trevor Lawrence to keep its season on track. On Sunday, the Jaguars’ quarterback impacted the game in a different way, using his mobility to lift his team past Indianapolis and keep the division within reach.

The former Clemson quarterback scored both of Jacksonville’s touchdowns on the ground in a 23-17 win, helping the Jaguars erase an early deficit and stretch their winning streak to seven games. While the passing touchdowns weren’t there and a rare interception showed up, Lawrence’s ability to extend plays and finish drives with his legs proved to be the difference.

After falling behind 10-0, Jacksonville slowly found its footing. Missed opportunities in the red zone kept the game tight early, but a pair of second-half rushing touchdowns from Lawrence swung momentum. His six-yard run in the third quarter gave the Jaguars the lead for good, and the defense closed the door late with timely takeaways.

Lawrence still delivered steady production through the air, throwing for 263 yards while completing over 60 percent of his passes. Over his last five outings, he has continued to protect the football and generate offense, accounting for 16 total touchdowns with just one interception during that stretch.

The win pushed Jacksonville to 12-4 and locked in a playoff berth, while setting up a division-clinching opportunity in the regular-season finale. A home victory next week would secure the AFC South and keep the Jaguars in the conversation for the conference’s top seed.

With the offense finding multiple ways to win and confidence growing each week, Jacksonville has positioned itself to finish the job when it matters most.
