North Carolina lands defensive lineman from Florida

Bill Belichick and Michael Lombardi have the task of rebuilding North Carolina’s roster through the transfer portal this offseason. With the portal open and over 4,000 players in it, the Tar Heels have already added a few players to the roster.

That included four players on the offensive side of the ball with a quarterback, offensive lineman, wide receiver, and tight end.

On Monday, they addressed a need on the defensive side and landed a big defensive lineman from the SEC. Former Florida defensive lineman Tarvorise Brown committed to the program on Monday morning. He’s the latest player to commit to the program, giving UNC five commits.

The 6-foot-6, 296-pound Brown joined Florida as a walk-on and spent two seasons with the Gators. He redshirted in 2024 before hitting the field in 2025. He appeared in three games this season, playing on 27 snaps.

As a transfer, he’s ranked No. 289 nationally and the No. 20 defensive lineman per the 247Sports portal rankings.
